HOW I WORK:

Our first visit is complimentary to determine if my services can meet your needs.  This first visit can take place any time during your pregnancy.  Our next visit will be to discuss in length your labor and delivery.  I will assist you in preparing a birth plan which will include individual philosophies you have regarding pain relief, choices with regards to relaxation, breathing and visualization techniques, and positions for labor.  At this time, the contract will be signed.  3 weeks prior to your due date we will meet again.  This will be to discuss preparation for labor and delivery, and will take place in the comfort of your home. We will review what will happen during your birth experience, and my role.  The review will include: practicing various positions for labor, rehearse relaxation techniques and breathing. We strongly encourage the birth partner to attend.

LABOR:

During early labor I will meet with you and your birth partner for emotional and physical support.  I can help you remain calm, relaxed and comfortable until labor is well established.  Support will continue up 1hr after delivery of your baby.

AFTER THE BIRTH:

Immediately after the birth it is important that you have bonding time with your baby.  I will be on call for you, and then meet again in your home in the next few weeks to briefly review your birthing experience and my role as your Doula. At this time, I can assist you further with breast-feeding, and with any other questions you may have.

24 hour on-call support throughout your prenatal and postpartum experience -  Be reassured that you can ask me anything, at anytime of day… this is one of the most wonderful advantages of having a Doula.
